Where exactly is Antibes? Nothing is easier. To give you an idea of its perfect geographical location, Antibes is by the sea, 6 miles from Cannes and 15 miles from Nice. As such, the international airport isn't far!

How much spending money will I need ?

Souvenirs, food, shopping and leisure activities all cost money (€2.20 for a soda; €1.50 for a bottle of water; €20-25 for a a set menu; €7 for a sandwich).

€75 a week is a good ball-park figure for pocket money.

Transport

The city has a transport interchange and students can get around on SNCF trains, buses owned by the company “Envibus” and on on the “Zou” public transport network!

Route n°200 gives access to many of the towns in the Côte d’Azur at a very affordable price (€1.50)

In winter temperatures are 8° to 12° C (46-54F) and in summer 25° to 35°C (75-90F). As such lightweight clothing is essential from Mid-May to the end of September.

Don’t forget to pack a jacket or lightweight coat in case it rains (it's rare but it can happen in the Côte d’Azur).

What is there to do in the Antibes?

Activities include escape games, race simulators, Laser Quest games not to mention a retro games arcade and a bowling alley. On top of all that a movie theater in the city center shows all the latest big movies. It’s a perfect way to improve your French whilst having fun. Sporty types will have their fill! The city is renowned for water sports and board sports. Wakeboarding, wakesurfing, snorkeling and even water ski-ing are popular. To cool off there is also Aquasplash, a water park in a great location near Marineland. For those who like zorbing, tennis or golf, there is no shortage of places to indulge your passion. Antibes also has stunning beaches! Pebble and sandy beaches offer the opportunity to relax, tan, swim or have a game of volleyball.

What is there to eat in Antibes?

“Après l’effort, le réconfort” (first comes work, then comes fun) according to a French proverb. Antibes is an ideal city for young people as it has a wide range of food options. There are restaurants and snack bars offering local, Asian, Italian, Lebanese and Indian cuisine. For lovers of fast food and snacks, no problem: there is no shortage of this type of outlet (McDonald's, Burger King, Subway etc.). For those with a sweet tooth Antibes is home to the Côte d’Azur's best crêpes. As for ice-cream makers they are not short on inspiration when offering their best flavors. In fact, there is something for everyone in Antibes!

Is it easy to do a spot of shopping?

There are many clothes stores in Antibes and particularly in Juan-les-Pins. Having bought souvenirs or clothes, a stroll through the streets of Antibes is a must. You can check out the bars and museums such as the Picasso Museum at your own pace. Anyone wishing to improve their French can find the perfect publication in one of the city's book stores The Comic Strips Café even offers comics (“bandes dessinées” in French) and mangas. Don’t forget the the municipal media library to see a movie or listen to French songs. Finally, the train station offers daily connections to the theme park Antibes Land for an unforgettable, thrilling experience.

What are the transport options within the city?

The 28 city bus routes on the “Envibus” network are perfect for getting around the muncipality every day. These buses are easy to spot as they are pink in color. Remember to signal to the driver to get the bus to stop! There are many options: Single tickets or books of 10, a weekly or monthly pass. A tip: if you want to buy a single ticket on the bus you’ll need coins as bank notes over €10 are not accepted. Prices are reasonable: €1.50 per ticket on average! The Antibes bus company also offers the app “Envibus ticket” for purchasing tickets and passes.
