"English village by CIA" is an international vacation resort offering an exceptional opportunity for 8-11 year-olds and 12-15 year-olds to learn English or improve their proficiency whilst enjoying an unforgettable stay by the sea!
Throughout their stay at the English Camp, our students are completely immersed in English. They are looked after and supervised from morning to evening by teachers and group leaders whose mother tongue is English. During the morning classes they learn or build on their knowledge of the language in a fun way and, in the afternoon they enjoy themselves, relax and take part in activities, all in English, both on and off the premises.
Going on the English Camp is a guarantee of learning while having fun!
Hands-on workshops, pool games, trips to the beach, a tree-top park, bowling and Laser Quest are all opportunities to practice the language of Shakespeare without realizing it! For those staying on campus the day-to-day is also in English to ensure full immersion throughout their stay.
At the English Camp, all teachers are native English speakers, experienced and specialized in teaching children.
Having taken a proficiency test, students will be placed in a class with a maximum of 15 students of the same level and age. Classes will be held in the morning (9 a.m. to 12:20) and are intended to be different to those kids and teens are used to. They are fun and dynamic to promote maximum oral communication. The aim is to break down the student's shyness and get them used to speaking English so that they become more confident in themselves and in their abilities.
At the end of the course, each student will receive a certificate stating the CEFRL level they have achieved.
There are no lessons on the first Monday. Students will take a test of written and oral English in the morning to have their language levels assessed and to be assigned to their classes.
On Campus:
The camp is on our Léonard de Vinci campus which is built on the edge of a pine forest and offers a quiet living environment conducive to learning and relaxation.
Students stay in threes in ensuite rooms with toilets on each floor. All meals are served on campus in the form of a buffet and picnic lunches are provided for weekend excursions.
Students who opt for this package are met by our group leaders at Nice Airport or Antibes train station. The benefits of the all-inclusive stay: A language camp with full immersion, 24 hours a day, in an international campus and an opportunity to make friends from all around the world!
In order to put what they have learned in the morning into practice, activities and entertainment are supervised by group leaders whose native language is English and so take place entirely in English!
Students having opted for the package Classes+Activities, as well as those on full board, will have lunch on-site before starting the afternoon activities.
The program of activities is adapted to the two different age groups and structures each day to continue the immersion in an enjoyable way. As such, the big themed games, such as the famous Harry Potter or the iconic Star Wars trilogy, give kids and teens the opportunity to have fun whilst putting into practice the learning outcomes from the morning. Pool games, trips to the beach and afternoons sailing, are all opportunities to build their self-confidence. For those in full immersion on the full package, after dinner activities continue and evenings and themed parties are organized on campus.
Antibes, a city 18 kilometers from Nice International Aiport, is a coastal resort where students can go everywhere on foot and are housed on a campus near the town center and sandy beaches. “A little Saint Tropez” for teens and kids where students can easily make friends.
Standard Courses
In line with the levels of Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, teachers bring their students on by creating learning and classroom activities that hold the interest of young learners.
During the 3 hours of each morning session.
8-15 year-olds are taught general English with a focus on learning the essential spoken, written and grammar competencies for each level. Through active teaching methods developed by the Centre International d’Antibes, and short teaching sequences alternating phases of concentration and interaction, teachers hold the interest of kids and teens and engage them in written and spoken production as well as reading and listening comprehension.
The campus is 2.5 miles from the town center and beaches. School shuttle buses provide transportation for supervised excursions or to bring them back from any free time agreed by parents.
Located in a conservation area, this huge 9-acre modern campus built on the edge of a large pine forest offers fully equipped living quarters.
Next to the campus's central square, in the boarding house, students are housed in threes in spacious en-suite rooms with toilets on each floor.
