intensive course at our school. He shares his experience and why he decided to
learn French in Antibes.
"My name is Greg Browne. I’m from Canada and a vascular surgeon. I’m 57 and I took a course at the Centre International d’Antibes for one week in December 2024."
"The location on the
French Riviera was ideal, and the Center offers
flexible intensive courses for one week, which fit my schedule perfectly. I had some free time and wanted to use it to improve my French.
I often travel to France because I love collecting and studying wine. Also, I work with patients from Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon, the French islands near my province in Canada. Many of them don’t speak English, and communication through an interpreter can be difficult. In a hospital, it’s essential to speak directly with patients. So I wanted to improve my French to communicate better with them."

I attended the intensive classes in the morning, and a conversation class in the afternoon with an exceptional teacher. The method for teaching adults is really engaging. "Antibes is beautiful. I loved the size of the town: small enough to walk around easily, but big enough to offer plenty of great restaurants and shops. We especially enjoyed hiking around Cap d’Antibes and exploring the area. It was also a great opportunity to practice French, especially when ordering food (and wine, of course) in local restaurants."
