French course in France for seniors

Language stay in France for seniors

Learn French on the Côte d’Azur

Seniors wishing to learn or improve their French enjoy taking classes in the morning, exploring the South of France in the afternoon, and having their evenings free. At night, our students will be housed in studios with all the mod cons in one of our club residences, a short walk from the center of Antibes and the beaches.

For 15 years, Centre International d'Antibes language school has been organizing French courses for seniors in France and now play host to over 20 nationalities.

French classes

20 lessons a week, Monday to Friday, in groups of no more than 12 students.

After taking a French test, seniors attend the standard course in the morning. As such, in a relaxed environment they will learn core grammar skills, develop their essential oral communication skills and familiarize themselves with French culture.

Activities

A new program every week

After class, in order to familiarize themselves with French culture and build on what they have learned whilst enjoying their free time, we offer seniors the opportunity to explore the region and discover its cultural diversity.

Each week is composed of 3 half-day or activities on weekdays and a full-day excursion at weekends.

Cultural activities or workshops

Each week a specific cultural activity is on offer for seniors, whether an introduction to petanque, a Provencal cooking workshop, local product tasting or a going to the movies or theater, the are all an opportunity to speak in French in a relaxed atmosphere.

Afternoon excursions

Twice a week seniors set out to explore the region by hiking the coastal path of the cap d’Antibes, exploring Grasse and the famous Fragonard perfumery, visiting Saint Paul de Vence and the Maeght Foundation or taking a guided tour of the streets of Cannes.

Weekend excursions

Seniors on the two-week program spend Saturday on a day trip exploring Nice or Monaco.  Both excursions are an opportunity to explore iconic sites of the Côte d’Azur, visit a museum and purchase a few souvenirs.

Accommodation

We offer our senior students accommodation in our own residences or club, located a short walk from the sandy beaches and town center.

Students are housed in modern attractive and  stylishly decorated 14 to 20 m2 studio apartments. These studios are fitted with a kitchenette, reversible air conditioning and in some cases a patio or balcony.

Why take a French course in the South of France as a fifty- or sixty-year-old?

The school offers a program that is carefully designed to meet the requirements and reflect the interests of the over-50s.

The residential French course in Antibes enables seniors to take advantage of the sun, sea and tranquility of a medium-sized town where everything is reachable on foot.

In his Invitation to the Voyage, Charles Baudelaire wrote: “There all is order and beauty, luxury, peace, and pleasure.” We invite senior students to accept this invitation and come on this journey to the heart of the Côte d’Azur.
