, renowned for its beaches, Mediterranean climate and safe atmosphere for young people. The Cannes Essentiel program offers an all-inclusive, simple and comprehensive package specially designed for
teenagers
aged 12 to 15. Participants take French lessons every morning on the
Campus International de Cannes
and, each week, enjoy supervised activities as well as a sailing session run by professionals.
Our trained and experienced activity leaders supervise the teenagers 24/7 and ensure that everyone's pace is respected. For two-week stays, a full-day excursion lets them discover the must-see sights of the French Riviera such as Nice, Monaco or the Lérins Islands.
Morning classes take place on the Campus International de Cannes, in classrooms of a maximum of 15 students. Teachers use a communicative, interaction-based approach to build teenagers' confidence and help them progress naturally in both spoken and written French.
Every Monday, a placement test enables each student to join a group suited to their level. It is also possible to assess your level before the stay thanks to our free online tool.
Teenagers are accommodated directly on the Campus International de Cannes, in shared rooms with a shared bathroom
Full board includes all meals in a self-service restaurant, with packed lunches on excursion days.
Bed linen is provided and changed weekly, and teams watch over the site 24/7, as in all
our youth accommodations
.
Included in the price of the program.
Each week, participants enjoy a varied program combining sports activities, supervised entertainment and the discovery of Cannes.
The stay includes each week:
- 1 half-day activity
- Sailing (or paddle/kayak)
- 1 full-day excursion for stays ≥ 2 weeks
- Sports, workshops and entertainment every evening
This program is one of our most comprehensive in terms of activities, similar to what we offer on our
premium language camps.
Young students are taken care of as soon as they arrive at Nice Côte d'Azur airport, Antibes train station or at the campus reception. From that moment on, the activity team will remain present and will also make sure that each student's permissions to go out are respected.
Our young students can benefit from parental permission to go out; below are the different options offered by the school depending on age. Please note that age is determined by the full date of birth (day, month, year) and not only by the year of birth.
Supervision
A team of activity leaders present 24/7
Our activity leaders are key contacts for our students and the team ensures that everyone is well integrated from the moment they arrive in this small community that is a campus or a school.
The activity team, their closeness, their enthusiasm and the sense of safety they give young people are essential elements in the success of the stay.
On our campuses, we follow a rigorous organisation that meets specific standards: a centre manager (coordinating all staff), an academic manager (managing the teaching team), an activity manager (managing the activity team), an assistant activity manager (assistant to the activity manager), supervisory staff on the boarding floors during the day while the children are present in the residence, and at night.
Safety
Strict control of entrances and exits!
The activity teams record all student entries and exits and ensure that parental permissions are respected and that everyone returns safely, leaving nothing to chance.
At night, the supervisors sleep on site, both managers and activity leaders, while the night guards are already on duty from 7:30 pm.
During the day, a free shuttle service links the campuses with the town centre or the beaches, and the activities offered by our kiosk comply with European safety standards.
No permission to go out alone.
Allowed to go to town or to the beach after the end of activities and until dinner at 7:30 pm.

Discover their stories!

Cannes, 30 km from Nice Côte d'Azur airport, is an easy-going town set along long sandy beaches.
Students will get around on foot and will be able to enjoy the very trendy "Croisette" as well as the pretty "Plages du Midi", which are less sophisticated and perhaps better suited to their wishes. There, they will meet French teenagers of their own age.
Cannes is a town where young people will quickly find their bearings and make French friends on the beaches of La Bocca.
More than on the luxurious Croisette, it is around these beaches, popular with French teenagers and located behind the old port, that students will find the friendly and affordable environment they are looking for at this age. The activity team will never be far away...
Choosing Cannes means choosing a rich language program that combines the theoretical learning of French with putting lessons into practice, thanks to role-play modules with the local population.
Through these modules, young people will work together to achieve a common goal in addition to learning French. This will help them gain confidence in conducting real-life conversations.
The program is open to young people aged 12 to 17; however, teenagers aged 15 to 17 are the majority on campus.
Please note that 16-17-year-olds can benefit from parental permission to go out, allowing them to return to campus at 1:00 am on Friday and Saturday nights.
Depending on their language level assessed during the placement test held on the Monday of their arrival, students have 3 hours of French lessons per day based on active teaching methods to stimulate young learners' desire to learn.
First part: 2 hours of traditional work
These standard French courses for teenagers develop 4 skills (reading, speaking, writing and listening):
Grammar, pronunciation and French civilization also complement these skills in line with the recommendations of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
Second part: 1 hour of oral activities
This hour, more active, light and enjoyable, is designed to make students love French. Each teacher plans oral activities that complement the first part of the lesson in order to interact and build the young learners' confidence.
In line with the levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, teachers help their students progress by creating educational activities and classroom games to capture the interest of young learners during the 3 hours of each morning session.
This course offers oral and written French teaching in a mainly fun way. The teacher uses materials and topics that match the interests of this young audience.
This course is delivered in the form of fun activities adapted to the youngest students (games and educational materials). Oral skills are a priority, enabling children to meet their immediate needs in their daily environment and become familiar with the French language.
Lessons on the
Cannes Essentiel (12–15 years) program are held on the
Campus International de Cannes, a site entirely dedicated to students,
located on the seafront and just a few minutes' walk from the town centre.
The campus offers an ideal environment for teenagers: small classes, an international atmosphere, a large sunny terrace and an on-site restaurant where young people have lunch every day after lessons. Everything is designed so that learning French takes place in a motivating, friendly and safe environment.
On site: modern classrooms, residence with air-conditioned rooms and private bathroom, large self-service restaurant, café-bar, Mediterranean gardens and sports grounds, with direct access to the beach.
