THE COURSES:

You will attend 12 hours of French lessons per week (from Monday to Friday or from Tuesday to Friday in the morning or the afternoon depending on the work schedule). You will be placed in a group in accordance to your specific level of French. However, if your level is non-compatible with your fellow students, or, if you are alone in a group level, please be advised that we will provide you with at least 4 hours of individual tuition instead of the standard 12 hours of group lessons.

DELF courses:
Depending on the period and the availability, you may attend one of our long term immersion programs which will give you the chance to gain a French qualification if you choose to prepare for the DELF exam. (You may also attend those courses without having to take any exam.)

The Delf (Diplôme d'études de langue française) has been set up by the French Ministry of Education. It is meant for foreigners so that they may obtain an offical recognition of their level in French. This diploma evaluates your abilities in practical everyday communicative French and that is in all aspects of the language (interaction, speaking and writing, listening and written comprehension).

We at CIA are one of the very few schools to offer a specific complete preparation program for the DELF. Our success rate has been at around 95% for the last five years.

Students' follow-up:
Teachers evaluate their long-term students every four weeks while offering them help and advise on their progression all along.

The European Frame of Reference (CECR):
The new DELF was redefined according to the "European levels" approved by the CECR. The CECR was set up by professionals of the field in order to offer a common basis for the elaboration of language programs. These levels are now recognised in all European language organisations, schools and institutions.

Certification and credits at CIA:
Each completed week of courses gives students 2 credits that are applicable to the European credit Transfer System( ECTS) . Once the course is achieved, students receive a certificate mentionning their "European level" as well as the number of credits obtained.
