One of the major reasons why the Cote d'Azur has always been one of the world's most popular tourist destinations is due to its wonderful weather. The region of Antibes is protected from the Mistral, the wind that sweeps Provence, by the Estérel Mountains which loom over Cannes/Mandelieu.

Antibes' mild winters mean that you can enjoy basking in the sun in your T-shirt on a cafe's terrace whilst on higher ground people enjoy the ski pistes (often just wearing T-shirts too!).
