Last year, L'Institut National de l'Audiovisuel (INA) launched a large initiative to create « archives for everyone. » With a few clicks of the mouse, relive the greatest moments of French cultural history : political debates, legendary artists, sporting events… a journey of images through recent French history and the world.
A victim of its own success, the INA internet site (www.ina.fr) received more than 3 million hits in the first hours after its launching. However, the incredible quantity of memories available online represents only 10% of their total collection. From now to 2015, all French television archives will be made available online.
