Learn more about the DELF
The DELF is organized by the French Ministry of Education and is henceforth in accordance with the common European reference from the ‘Cadre européen commun de référence pour les langues du conseil de l’Europe’.
Some changes took place from the 1st September 2005 :
DELF A1 - A2 - B1:
This diploma certifies that the holder has basic competency in French and
is able to communicate in normal everyday life situations.
- General expression
- Expressing basic ideas and feelings
- Understanding written and oral material
- Understanding the structure and mechanism of the French language
DELF B2 :
Holders of this diploma have a general knowledge of French civilisation; they are able to analyse a text
and give a rendering of it both orally and in writing :
- French and French-speaking civilisation (written)
- Specialised expression (oral)
DELF ALSO EXISTS WITH A JUNIOR VERSION :
Today, the "DELF SCOLAIRE" has been integrated within the study curriculum of the following countries : Afghanistan, Germany, Canada, Spain, Guatemala, Jerusalem, Jordan, Laos, Tcheck Republic, Serbia and Montenegro, Slovaquia, Switzerland, Syria, Venezuela.
