  • Restituting a story from pictures or mime
  • Listening to common dialogues or movie excerpts
  • Game :
    • The alibi
    • The mysterious character
    • Find the city
  • Oral report on a subject chosen in class
  • Debates / exchanges of ideas after viewing TV documentaries
WEEK 2
  • The imperative and subjunctive
  • Relative pronouns QUI - QUE - DONT - OU - LEQUEL - DUQUEL
  • development of basic communicative functions :
    • Expressing opinions and feelings
    • Expressing a wish, a necessity
    • Using idiomatic expressions and language structures
  • Facilitating spontaneous expressions
  • Understanding specialized documents and being able to convey the information
  • Culture and civilization
  • Role plays
  • Using virtual aids: associating images and ideas (ex : working on advertisement)
  • Debates (1/1 or 2/2) on a current subject in the news
  • Group work: « the trial »
  • Exercise in selective listening completing information (a song, a text, a dialogue)
  • Deciphering and reporting about statistics gathered in a board or diagram
WEEK 3
  • Conditional present and past
  • Hypothetical sentences
  • Consequence expression
  • The present participle
  • The gerund
  • Development of basic communicative functions :
    • Understanding dialogues in films and documentaries, TV news, the lyrics of a song
    • Developing fluency
    • Discussion within a formal environment (politeness)
  • Language registers: Improving elocution and getting the correct intonation

 

  • Writing a letter of advice to a friend
  • Preparing surveys on a theme + interviews in town + report in class
  • Creating a tourist report about Antibes
  • Role plays
  • Working on French films :
    • Guessing the picture from the sound track
    • Creating a story from a few movie excerpts selected by the teacher
  • Creating a TV news program with a camcorder
  • Live practice: surveys in Antibes
  • Using press reports as a base for debates
